Hereunder the organiser of event named "Knowledge Connexions Conference 2020" (the “Event Organizer”), has stipulated ‘Additional Terms’ that will be their own responsibility to which HeySummit will have no liability or connection. These Additional Terms will be separate to HeySummit’s Terms & Conditions stipulated thereafter and the Additional Terms thereof will by no means supersede or invalidate HeySummit’s Terms & Condition. Where a conflict occurs between both of the aforementioned terms, HeySummit’s Terms & Conditions will prevail.
Knowledge Connexions Terms & Conditions
What these terms cover. These are the terms and conditions which apply when registering and purchasing a ticket for Knowledge Connexions and when attending Knowledge Connexions. Please read these terms carefully before registering with us.
Who we are. Knowledge Connexions is a collaboration of Connected Data London (CDL) based in Europe and Knowledge Graph Conference (KGC) based in North America to deliver an online global virtual event (Conference). CDL is a
trademarked and wholly-owned brand of Neural Alpha Ltd., located at Edinburgh House, 170 Kennington Lane, Kennington, London SE11 5DP. KGC is incorporated as Knowledge Graph Conference LLC located at 41 WEST 105TH STREET, NEW YORK, 10025, NEW YORK, United States.
In these terms, any reference to “Knowledge Connexions”, "Knowledge Connexions", "we" or "us" also includes and will read as reference KGC and CDL collectively, their affiliates and subsidiaries.
Registration. Our acceptance of a registration will take place when we send you an email to confirm your registration has been successful, at which point a contract will be formed between us and the registration fees will become due.
Refund and ticket policy. Please note that cancellations for Knowledge Connexions must be submitted in writing (e.g. email or letter) to ensure a refund.
The refund amount will be determined as below:
Cancellations made 60 days prior to event will receive a 75% refund on the ticketed price.
Cancellations made 30 days prior to event will receive a 50% refund on the ticketed price.
Cancellations made 15 days prior to event will receive a 25% refund on the ticketed price.
Due to venue catering and booking commitments, cancellations made within 15 days of the event cannot be refunded. Refund amounts do not include payment fees which are not recoverable from the payment system provider.
Registration sharing is Not Allowed. It is prohibited for attendees to share registrations. Conference participants violating this policy may be sanctioned or expelled from the conference without a refund at the discretion of the conference organisers (passes issued to exhibitors are exempt from this policy).
Pre-Paid Access Only. Only registrations that have been paid in full will be valid. Only participants who have paid for the conference in full will be admitted. Last minute credit card payments can be processed on the websites.
Limited Conference Access. Only participants with valid, Knowledge Connexions-issued registrations are allowed access into the Knowledge Connexions conference.
Knowledge Connexions reserves the right to reasonably refuse registration or admission to anyone for any reason. If Knowledge Connexions cancels a registration for a reason which is not attributable to the registrant, we will provide a full refund.
not be in the same location/ same city. Registration fees paid by registrants for a cancelled or postponed conference shall be applicable to the rescheduled conference on equivalent monetary basis. In the event that we are not able to reschedule the cancelled conference, registrants will be offered a refund. Knowledge Connexions is not responsible for incurred expenses such as - but not limited to - airline tickets, hotel costs, other tickets or payments, or any related or associated costs, fees, penalties, losses or expenses registrants may incur or have incurred as a result of any trip cancellations or changes. Conference dates and locations are subject to change. Knowledge Connexions reserves the right to change any and all speakers or instructors without notice.
Payment Information. Only participants who have paid for the conference in full will be admitted. The registration fees are subject to taxes as applicable and stated. Knowledge Connexions complies with all local tax requirements and regulations. It is the registrant’s responsibility to comply with his/her own respective tax laws. We accept Bank transfer, and major credit cards. You may pay online or contact us to request pay-by phone or invoice payment. We are not responsible for any discrepancies between bank exchange rates, bank card exchange rates, foreign bank transaction fees, internet posted exchange rates, etc. Cheques & Money Orders are not currently accepted online.
Anti-Harassment Policy. As the host of Knowledge Connexions, CDL and KGC are dedicated to providing a harassment-free conference experience for everyone. We do not tolerate harassment of conference participants in any form. Conference participants violating these rules may be sanctioned or expelled from the conference without a refund at our discretion.
Harassment includes unwelcome or hostile behaviour, including speech (oral or written) that intimidates, creates discomfort, or interferes with a person's participation or opportunity for participation, in our conference. Harassment includes, but is not limited to:
o Comments that reinforce social structures of domination, such as those related to gender, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, age or religion.
o Adult risqué, obscene or sexual images in public spaces
o Deliberate intimidation, stalking, or following
o Harassing photography or recording
o Sustained disruption of talks or other events
o Inappropriate physical contact
o Unwelcome attention, unsolicited and unwelcome sexual advances, requests for sexual favors, or other verbal or physical conduct of a sexual nature
o Advocating for, or encouraging, any of the above behavior
Retaliation for reporting any incidents of harassment, or perceived harassment, for making any complaints of harassment, or participating in any investigation of incidents of harassment, or perceived harassment is also strictly prohibited.
Enforcement
Participants asked to stop any harassing behaviour must comply immediately. If a participant engages in harassing or disruptive behaviour, we may take any actions to keep
the event a welcoming environment for all participants. This includes, without limitation, warning the offender or expulsion from the conference with no refund.
We may take action to redress anything that we determine in our discretion is designed to, or with the clear impact of, disrupting the event or making the environment hostile for any participants. We may notify law enforcement authorities as we see fit.
We expect participants to follow these rules at all event venues and event-related social activities. A response that the participant was “just joking,” or “teasing,” or being “playful,”will not be accepted.
Reporting
If someone engages in any harassing behaviour or makes you or anyone else feel unsafe or unwelcome, please report it as soon as possible. Conference staff can be identified via their user names which will be appended with “Knowledge Connexions – first name” or moderator/host roles in online events. You can make a report either personally or anonymously as follows.

o Contacting a conference staff member, identified by STAFF badges, buttons, or shirts, or moderator/host roles in online events.
When taking a personal report, our staff will use reasonable efforts to ensure you cannot be overheard. They may involve other event staff to ensure your report is managed properly. Our staff is instructed to handle report intake as respectfully as possible, and you can bring someone to support you. You won't be asked to confront anyone and we won't tell anyone who you are.

This anti-harassment policy is based on the example policy from the Geek Feminism wiki, created by the Ada Initiative and other volunteers.
Photography & Video of You. Throughout the event, sessions will be recorded and shared. It's possible that you will appear in some of those photos/videos/recordings, which are used for future marketing, as discussed below. We also encourage attendees to share their conference experiences via their own content on social media. If you have any concerns, please speak directly with any host, moderator or staff member. By participating in Knowledge Connexions, you hereby grant Knowledge Connexions the exclusive and unlimited right to use, reuse, publicly display, publish and/or re-publish, in any manner or medium, now or later developed, your name, likeness and any and all video, photographic or other images of you taken by or on behalf of Knowledge Connexions or its attendees for the purpose of illustrating, advertising and promoting Knowledge Connexions. You understand you will not be compensated in any way for any of these uses or have any right to examine or approve these uses and agree to release Knowledge Connexions from all claims and liability relating to the use of your name, likeness, photograph, image or statement. Knowledge Connexions has the right to change, modify or alter this material in any way without your prior permission and you hereby waive any and all rights with respect to such changes, modifications or alterations. The foregoing permission and release shall inure to the benefit of the assigns, licensees and legal representatives of Knowledge Connexions.
Speaker’s Own Opinion. Knowledge Connexions do not endorse any opinions, statements or presentations made by speakers, sponsors, attendees, guests or other participants of the
conference. These statements solely reflect the opinion of the respective speaker. Knowledge Connexions cannot be held liable or responsible for these statements. However, if statements made by a speaker violate Knowledge Connexions’ Code of Conduct (see below), we request that our staff be immediately notified so that this can be addressed and necessary steps can be taken per our policy.
Volunteers & Temps. Knowledge Connexions relies on the help of some volunteers and temps to host the conference. Volunteers and temporary staff are not employees or staff of Knowledge Connexions. As such, Knowledge Connexions cannot be held responsible for their actions, beliefs or statements. However, if you hear any inappropriate statements or see inappropriate behaviour, please bring it immediately to the attention of the Knowledge Connexions staff at the info booth/registration desk.
Liability. Knowledge Connexions assumes no responsibility or liability for any loss or damage which arise as a result of any use of the facilities or services provided at Knowledge Connexions, or for any use of or reliance on any content displayed on our website. This includes - but is not limited to - the main conference venue, possible off-site Knowledge Connexions-related events, suppliers, vendors, exhibitors, sponsors, speakers, guests, volunteers, staff, other participants, hotels and transportation services. In particular, Knowledge Connexions will not be liable for any loss of profits, loss of business, business interruption, or loss of business opportunity, or for any delays caused by an event outside of our control. Knowledge Connexions does not exclude or limit our liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including for any death or personal injury caused by our negligence.
Copyrights & Trademarks. Product and brand names remain the registered trademarks of the respective companies. Knowledge Connexions is a private event of Connected Data London and Knowledge Graph Conference who hold all trademarks and copyrights for the content of the conference. No use of the Knowledge Connexions or Knowledge Connexions trademarks is permitted without our prior written approval.
Privacy. We do not sell, trade or rent your information to other parties unless we have first obtained your consent. Your personal information will be used only by the Knowledge Connexions team. Examples of how we use your information internally include conference updates and discounts, solicit your feedback, provide you with early access to conference videos, resolve accounting issues, resolve hotel room block questions or to determine popularity of a topic or speaker. Should you personally volunteer your information to a Knowledge Connexions sponsor or exhibitor (e.g. by allowing your badge to be scanned for physical events, or by attending a sponsored talk for online events), you are agreeing to be contacted by that specific sponsor/exhibitor. By using our site and registering/attending Knowledge Connexions, you consent to such processing and you warrant that all data provided by you is accurate. Please refer to our Privacy Policy.
Third parties. These terms are between us and the business registrant and no other person shall have any rights to enforce any of its terms.
Governing Law. These terms are governed by the laws of England & Wales.
Policy Modifications. We reserve the right to change these Knowledge Connexions Terms at any time. Every time you wish to use our site or register with us, please check these terms to ensure you understand the terms that apply at that time.

The event organizer is using the HeySummit platform to operate this event. In addition to any terms and conditions or privacy policy provided above, the following terms apply for using the HeySummit Platform.
Authorised Users means those employees, agents and independent contractors of the Customer who are authorised by the Customer to use the Services and the Documentation.
Customer means the person or business which purchases the Services from the Operator.
Customer Data means the data inputted by the Customer, Authorised Users, the Operator or HeySummit on the Customer's behalf for the purpose of using the Services or facilitating the Customer's use of the Services including blog posts of the Customer posted on the Customers website.
Documentation means the HeySummit documentation made available to the Customer online via https://heysummit.com/ or such other web address notified by Operator or HeySummit to the Customer from time to time which sets out a description of the Services and the user instructions for the Services.
HeySummit means Hey Summit Ltd registered at 71–75 Shelton Street Covent Garden London WC2H 9JQ under company number 11538852.
HeySummit Marks means any trademarks, service marks, service or trade names, logos, and other designations of HeySummit and its affiliates that we may make available to you in connection with this Agreement.
Operator means the HeySummit customer from whom the Customer has purchased the Services.
Platform means the digital resource provided by HeySummit to the Operator to allow the Operator’s Customers to run and participate in online summits.
Services means provision of the Hey Summit Platform.
Software means the online software applications provided by HeySummit as part of the Services.
User Subscriptions means the user subscriptions purchased by the Customer which entitle Authorised Users to access and use the Services and the Documentation in accordance with these terms.
Virus means any thing or device (including any software, code, file or programme) which may: prevent, impair or otherwise adversely affect the operation of any computer software, hardware or network, any telecommunications service, equipment or network or any other service or device; prevent, impair or otherwise adversely affect access to or the operation of any programme or data, including the reliability of any programme or data (whether by re-arranging, altering or erasing the programme or data in whole or part or otherwise); or adversely affect the user experience, including worms, trojan horses, viruses and other similar things or devices.
2.1. Subject to the Customer purchasing User Subscriptions, the restrictions set out in this clause 2 and the other terms and conditions of these terms, HeySummit hereby grants to the Customer a non-exclusive, non-transferable right, without the right to grant sublicences, to permit the Authorised Users to use the Services and the Documentation during the Subscription Term solely for the Customer's internal business operations.
2.2. In relation to the Authorised Users, the Customer undertakes that:
2.2.1. the maximum number of Authorised Users that it authorises to access and use the Services and the Documentation shall not exceed the number of User Subscriptions it has purchased from time to time;
2.2.2. it will not allow or suffer any User Subscription to be used by more than one individual Authorised User unless it has been reassigned in its entirety to another individual Authorised User, in which case the prior Authorised User shall no longer have any right to access or use the Services and/or Documentation;
2.2.3. each Authorised User shall keep a secure password for his use of the Services and Documentation, that such password shall be changed no less frequently than monthly and that each Authorised User shall keep his password confidential.
3.1. The Customer shall not access, store, distribute or transmit any Viruses, or any material during the course of its use of the Services that:
3.1.1. is unlawful, harmful, threatening, defamatory, obscene, infringing, harassing or racially or ethnically offensive;
3.1.2. facilitates illegal activity;
3.1.3. depicts sexually explicit images;
3.1.4. promotes unlawful violence;
3.1.5. is discriminatory based on race, gender, colour, religious belief, sexual orientation, disability; or
3.1.6. is otherwise illegal or causes damage or injury to any person or property; and HeySummit reserves the right, without liability or prejudice to its other rights to the Customer, to disable the Customer's access to any material that breaches the provisions of this clause. HeySummit is not obliged to remove or recognise such content contained in any material or Customer Data and the Customer shall be fully liable for the same.
3.2. The Customer shall be responsible for ensuring that content of the Customer Data is satisfactory for publication to Third Party Social Sites and is in compliance with clause 3.3 above.
3.3. The Customer shall indemnify HeySummit against all liabilities, costs, expenses, damages and losses (including but not limited to any direct, indirect or consequential losses, loss of profit, loss of reputation and all interest, penalties and legal costs (calculated on a full indemnity basis) and all other reasonable professional costs and expenses) suffered or incurred by HeySummit arising out of or in connection actual or alleged infringement of a third party's intellectual property rights arising out of or in connection with publication of the Customer Data.
3.4. The Customer shall not, except as may be allowed by any applicable law which is incapable of exclusion by agreement between the parties and except to the extent expressly permitted under these terms:
3.4.1 attempt to copy, modify, duplicate, create derivative works from, frame, mirror, republish, download, display, transmit, or distribute all or any portion of the Software and/or Documentation (as applicable) in any form or media or by any means; or
3.4.2 attempt to de-compile, reverse compile, disassemble, reverse engineer or otherwise reduce to human-perceivable form all or any part of the Software; or
3.4.3 access all or any part of the Services and Documentation in order to build a product or service which competes with the Services and/or the Documentation; or
3.4.4 use the Software, Services and/or Documentation to provide services to third parties; or
3.4.5 license, sell, rent, lease, transfer, assign, distribute or otherwise commercially exploit Services and/or Documentation except as permitted under the Agreement.
3.4.6 attempt to obtain, or assist third parties in obtaining, access to the Services and/or Documentation, other than as provided under this clause 3; and
3.5. The Customer shall use all reasonable endeavours to prevent any unauthorised access to, or use of, the Services and/or the Documentation and, in the event of any such unauthorised access or use, promptly notify HeySummit.
3.6. The rights provided under this clause 3 are granted to the Customer only, and shall not be considered granted to any subsidiary or holding company of the Customer.
4.1. The Customer acknowledges and agrees that HeySummit and/or its licensors own all intellectual property rights in the Services, Software and the Documentation. Except as expressly stated herein, the Customer is not granted any rights to, under or in, any patents, copyright, database right, trade secrets, trade names, trade marks (whether registered or unregistered), or any other rights or licences in respect of the Services or the Documentation.
4.2 All licenses granted to the Customer are conditional on the Customer’s continued compliance with these terms, and will immediately and automatically terminate if the Customer does not comply with any term or condition of this Agreement. During and after the Subscription Term, the Customer will not assert, nor will the Customer authorize, assist, or encourage any third party to assert, against us or any of HeySummit’s affiliates, customers, vendors, business partners, or licensors, any patent infringement or other intellectual property infringement claim regarding any Services, Software or Documentation The Customer is not allowed to use HeySummit Marks without prior written consent from HeySummit.
4.3. HeySummit confirms that it has all the rights in relation to the Services and the Documentation that are necessary to grant all the rights it purports to grant under, and in accordance with, the terms of these terms.
These terms and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with it or its subject matter or formation (including non-contractual disputes or claims) shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the law of England and Wales.
Each party irrevocably agrees that the courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction to settle any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with these terms or its subject matter or formation (including non-contractual disputes or claims).
